Hostgator – a New Host for My Design Website
Just a quick note.
I have not been really happy with our (now-former) web hosting outfit, partly because their security seemed to be pretty lax, and partly because I did not care for the Plesk Control Panel.
We finally moved to our new host, Hostgator, yesterday. I’ve had a few clients host there, so I was already aware of the many options you get for a very reasonable price.
I must say, I’m thrilled so far. They use the Cpanel interface, which is organized in a very reasonable way.
They have online chat, which I’ve already used, and my question was answered immediately.
We have already added a couple of addon domains and subdomains, and the DNS pointers started pointing to our sites hosted there as of this morning.
The stats packages they offer are excellent. I love Awstats!
I’m now investigating some of the optional groovy things we can also add, such as a photo gallery database and a web calendar.
I suppose I’ll offer my opinion on these things as I evaluate them.
