In the seating area of the dining room/kitchen, we replaced an old-fashioned floral print chaise lounge with a sleek asian style daybed with sides that can fold up for a love seat or down for an armless couch.
Lace curtains were replaced with a sheer fabric in brown decorated with a blue circle pattern. This same fabric was used to cover two chocolate brown pillows that client already had, and she made a new buff-yellow-orange colored pillow as well. Dark brown bamboo drapes and new brown drapery hardware completed the window covering.
We added water hyacinth ottomans in dark brown, which can be topped with round trays in a brown leather with blue circle stitching to serve as mini coffee tables.
An asian rope lamp replaced the old-fashioned glass lamp.
Plans remain to replace an out of style ceiling fan with a more modern one in a dark wood and nickel wire design, and to add chair rails and crown moldings to this room.
