About
Marilyn Fenn is currently an interior design student at ACC's Interior Design Institute. Her interest in the design of interior spaces goes back to her childhood; her sister would tell you that growing up sharing a bedroom with Marilyn meant everything on the dresser had to be arranged 'just so,' and how Marilyn's side of the closet was always organized by color (isn't everybody's?). Marilyn started drawing interior and architectural designs as a teenager, then went off to pursue other educational and vocational interests.
The purchase of her first home several years ago -- a lovely, charming older home in need of a little paint and polish -- renewed Marilyn's interest in interior design. She took her first interior design class primarily to learn a few things about redesigning her own space. As friends visited her home during the redesign process, they marveled at the transformations, particularly Marilyn's use of color in her space. Based on what Marilyn has done at her home, several friends have decided to hire her to help with their own design dilemmas.
Marilyn loves the idea of applying her design and space organization skills and color knowledge to helping others realize both beauty and functionality in their own spaces.
Marilyn's background as an artist, visual designer, web designer and illustrator adds to her ability to design and decorate beautiful interiors. Her deep understanding of how to use color in art and design and her knowledge of moving the eye through a space in painting translate very well to the design and decoration of interior spaces.
